About Us

Central Illinois Poultry Processing began in 1995. Andy and Viola Jess began custom poultry processing on their farm three miles south of Arthur, Illinois. The business expanded gradually. Today, CIPP employs approximately 25 employees. We process an average of 2500 chickens a day. We are still located on the property the business began on. Andy’s son, Paul, is our competent plant manager.

In addition to custom processing, we began growing our own chickens to meet our customer demands. More than a dozen local family farms currently grow chickens for us. Our goal is to supply our wholesalers with fresh chicken each week.

Our slaughter plant is inspected daily by USDA. A semi-automated line carries the birds to various workstations. We humanely slaughter using a stun knife. After the birds are completely cleaned, they are placed in water-chilled tanks to cool until they are below 38 degrees F. We vacuum package our poultry products in shrink bags. The product then goes to our cooler or freezer depending on the customer’s need.

Our relationship with the Lord Jesus, and living by His Word are our highest priorities. We endeavor to serve our employees and customers according to the Golden Rule.

We welcome your comments and questions. Let us know how we can serve you better.
